FAQ

A selection of our most frequently asked questions. For more answers either contact us or visit our FAQ page.
How much does bulky item removal cost?

The cost of bulky item removal really depends on the type and size of the item that needs to be collected. Our minmum charge of £60 will cover most bulky items but some items will have an additional charge due to the extra costs for their recycling or disposal. Items containing POPs waste such as soft furnishings, fridges and freezers, mattresses and pianos all have any extra charge. Further details can be seen on our prices page.

What bulky items can you take?

Near enough everything - Wardrobes, beds, mattresses, fridges, freezers, office chairs, desks, cookers, washing machines, tumble driers, rowing machines...the list goes on. We'll even take the kitchen sink! Contact us to talk about your item or items and we'll give you a free quote and agree a convenient time to collect.

I live in a flat with no lift, can you still collect my item?

Yes, no problem. As long as we know about any specific requirements at the time of giving a quote we're happy to clear items wherever they are.

Do you need a licence to provide bulky item removal services?

Yes. It is vitally important that whichever house clearance provider you chose is fully licensed by the environment agency. This ensures that everything the provider collects will be disposed of correctly and legally. Otherwise there is a risk of fly-tipping which could result in a fine of up to £50,000 for the original owner of the waste. Everett’s House Clearance are also fully insured.

What do you do with the items you collect?

Environmental sustainability is a core focus for us. We aim to send zero to landfill and go the extra mile to recycle, reuse or repurpose the majority of what we collect. We have good relationships with various recycling operations around the country meaning we can recycle a lot more than you’d expect. Mattresses, fridges, freezers, sofas, and wood furniture can all be recycled. Other items will be donated to charity or resold.

Can you donate my bulky item to charity?

Yes, we're happy to do so but we will need to check that the charity will accept it. Charities have become far more picky with what they will accept.

I need my space cleared quickly, can you help?

Yes, we can often accommodate last-minute or quick turnaround jobs. Contact us to discuss your needs and deadlines and we will do our best to help you out.

I need a whole room cleared, can you do that?

Yes, absolutely this would come under our partial house clearance service.
